Adventures of Egypt and the Nile

Welcome to the International Travel Agency. Our featured tour is Egypt, a country in northeastern Africa bordering the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. It became a republic in 1952. Their language is Arabic, their currency is the Egyptian pound, the country's capital is Cairo, and its population is 76, 117,421 according to the 2004 census report.

Then, there's the Nile, this river ruled the lives of ancient Egyptians. Nearby, the Nile is where farmers planted grains in the rich black silt and tended to growing crops, which they harvested from January until April.  However, from April through June, farmers let their fields bake in the hot sun. And, during the months of July and October, the monsoons at its sources in East Africa induced the Nile to flood, washing the salts from the soil.

But, this cycle ensured an abundance of food, along with other rich resources and its isolation, spawned a civilization that spanned 3,000 years.
